Default Cardio routine - Help

I want to improve my speed and stamina for football and am currently doing 2 sessions a week interval and two 30 mins steady runs. I also train and play once a week.

Will this routine give me an improvment or does anyone have any better routines??

Football as a game involves a lot of short bursts of energy (stop start) so i would probably try training in bursts run for 2 mins fast 2 mins slower for the duration of your session. The most effective way i found for rowing training was to row so try and play more football.
