I got a pair of gloves for christmas but I haven't worn them in the past. I've got them because I have naturally greasy palms and my grip often slips, I thought they may help a little with 'pull' movements.

My vote gets ''only when lifting the mother of all weights''

I only use a belt and gloves for heavy deadlifts, and usually continue to use the belt when training upper back on the back day, only because i'm crippled in the lower back from the heavy lifts.

I also like straps occassionally

Nick

Apparently belts are only any use if you want to enter a strongman contest; as squats and deads both train your back, using a belt gioves extra help, which in turn just doesn't work it as much.

As for gloves, I've never understood this... what are they for? To stop the skin on your hands goind hard or something? All I know is that they seriously hinder my grip but then I've only ever used one pair, so in short - no, I don't use anything except for a bit of chalk. Grrrar... I'm a REAL man!! LOL!

Ah, it depends on what parts of your hands are slipping... if you've got weak thumbs, use plate pinching and if your fingers have a dendency to slip as mine do then you want to be doing weighted bar supporting or a farmer's walk (hold dumbbells in hands and walk around for 30 secs, set down and rest, repeat 3-5 times). There's also thick bar work and lever work too.
