I dosent look silly mate. Slouching looks silly. It will 'feel' silly because you wont be used to doing it and will be conscious about it. The more you do it the easier and more natural it becomes.

iv got exactly the same problem splinter. really strained my back recently whilst trying to start training legs and doing squats and deadlifts etc. im also trying to improve my posture - however, im not going to do squats or deadlifts again as i think iv done some damage! il use leg press instead and just train the rest of my legs as normal.

Ive actually got the opposite problem. My best body part is back and my worst is chest, which means my posture is slightly incorrect but the other way. This is doubly problematic as it makes my gut stick out even though I only have around 12% BF! A big 'pot belly' but with the outline of abs on, it really is strange!
