He answered the question in 2 sentences, did you want him to put in a chapter from Pride and Prejudice for you to read as well, if so I suggest you go to a library

Most times we don't have scientific explanations for why we do things we just learn by trial and error, there is no magic answer with a perfect explanation, if there was there would be no need for a discussion forum.
That said I do a warm up set of 20 reps then 3-4 sets of5-10 reps progressively increasing weight, then I finish on a very light pumping set, I don't have a set number of exercises when I feel I have effectively worked the muscle I have a recovery shake and come back the next day to do it all over again.

Well said.

Bodybuilding is certainly a trial and error sport, what works for one may not work for another. I'm no expert and don't claim to be, but its nice to be able to hear each others opinions and compare.

I think the only things I think we all must do is train with enough intensity, not overtrain, get adequate rest and eat well.
