I have trained with weights ( 20 years) to help in my tae kwon do, but now wish to put on some serious size! I can train for an hour monday - fri, although I understand that my not be wise. I notice that there is a sticky on beginners forum, for a beginers routine - should I start with that ? I have previously trained with split routines. I was just thinking if I want to start over building size, should I go back to basics, or look at a more intermidete - advance workout ? Cheers TKD PS if you need more info re my current strength & size (or lack of!) please let me know. |

...if you have 20 years experience with weights, you dont need to start from scratch just because your goals have changed...there are some good threads in this section recently in regards to this...if you can only work out 5 days a week consectutive, you are probablly better off with 5 on, 2 off, focusing on one body part each day, but you will ultimately have to go with trial and error to find what works best for you... your diet is going to be the key in determining how much you can gain and how much... ______________________ Look Here before you ask!... http://www.musclechat.co.uk/search.php Steroid Sticky Here... http://musclechat.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=4464 | |

Now, because of a change in work circumstances, I can get to the gym 5 times per week for 1 hour sessions. It sounds ideal to train on a 5 day split but I'm not sure what body parts to train on consec' days to allow for full recovery. Any pointers  would but much appreciated. It would be good to get a routine "in stone" for the new year, I know my lack of gains in the past has in a great part been due to a lack of continuity Just to give u a rough idea of where I am at the mo - I'm 6 foot and 198lb chest 44 upper arms 16" oh! and I'm 36 years young. My aim - well , I would like to get to a muscular 16 stone by the age of 40 thanx again look forward to recieving your advice |
