At the moment i am dieting and i was wondering should my traing style change (reps, sets, weight)

Should i be using higher repations and getting more of a burn using isolation exercises and compund exercises

Or should i be using heavy compound movements e.t.c

What changes do you make in your training when ur going through a dieting phase..

I have tried both methods, sticking to the same routine, heavy weights and 6-10 reps and also lighter weights and more reps 15+

The dieting I have just finshed combined both and alternating each week

1 week - 6-8 reps
1 week - 20-25 reps for a mega burn

in addition to this both weeks would be using supersetting on each bodypart, not for all exercises but just for a couple to keep the intensity up whilst on a lower calorific intake.

Protein was very very high and carbs were low.

Found this method far better than either of them used alone

Diet was mainly chicken (very little supplaments) at around 2-2.5 grams per lb of bodyweight

Oats were taken in the morning and post workout (rice post workout too) with broccoli.

Total carbs taken in for the day around 100g

This diet however cannot be sustained indefinately as it is a contest prep diet.
