Default Shrugs

Nearly every time I do shrugs, i get this feeling afterwards like i've put my neck out of place. I know that traps are used for neck flexion, and having given them a battering, one could expect wierdness, but just wondering if anyone else gets this?

Not really painful, but kinda annoying.

My preferred is barbell shrugs - I pretty much go along the vertical plane, with a squeeze at the top.

Maybe give EZ bar a try or Dbells. Might not be quite a natural movement using a straight bar. Just a thought.

Nope, I just use a regular straight barbell.

my neck gets stiff after shrugs-you could try using a lighter poundage and do `em slower-it works out the same by the last rep-you could try front shrugs by laying on a bench-they`re supposed to be the best of the lot,but you need an appropriate bench-which i do not!

Well the wierd thing is, only one side of my neck feels wierd. I'll try just doing dumbells for the next few times.
