If it was cheap enough it could really be a viable option for me as my time is really limited. Would anybody know how much i would have to spend to be able to cover all the exercises that i need and also another problem is i dont have much space. So thats a little bit of money and a little bit of space for a home gym. Any help is welcome. |

But nothing beats the atmosphere in the gym. Theres a kind of competition, not in what you lift but HOW you lift. I find it easier to motivate myself when theres a change of surroundings, a bit of music and a few people milling about. If you go ahead, you will need a decent bench (no rack needed really) and a set of adjustable dumb-bells. Take it easy and let us know how you get on. Fierce. |

Lack of equipment for one is usually an issue. Also I find the gym becomes a community whereby you will meet many members of your gym at a similar level to yourself or above and be inspired motivated and given assistance and advice which you then can pass on. Whilst obviously there will be some examples of big guys who train at home I'd always say join a gym if you can. But each to there own I guess. TT |

Each has is ups and downs, what ever suits. ______________________ Done it before, stopped, started again, wish I never stopped. |

I have always trained at the gym alone because training partners get bored after a while so the squat rack has always been very useful in saving my life. |

| Banned Making Progress | where you train isnt important, your muscles dont know where you are, its how you train and the effort you put into it that counts. if you want to do heavy squats buy a squat rack. its easy to pick up old gym equipment at auctions really cheap, far less than a years membership at most gyms. getting to and from a gym can double your workout time and i find other people milling about to distracting and i like to listen to my music full blast when training so home suits me just fine. |
