Default finding time to train

Hello everyone

My wife has recently had our 1st child so i am finding it very difficult to get to the gym and to train with any intensity due to sleep deprevation.

i am totally changing my routine to include my whole body so that if i only get to train twice a week i at least hit all the bits i need. The routine will only be Squats, deadlifts, shoulder pressess, bench presses and a bit of arm and calf work.

Any advice on the viability of this doing this would be much appreciated.

Ta

well mate if you have a spare bedroom sleep in that on the nights before your going to train with some ear plugs in, unless your doin your bit with the babs, you can only train when you can, at least your at the gym maintaining, remember it wont be for ever, use the time to plan and write your new routine and diet for when you are able to give it 100%.

Cheers Shaun,

I really dont know how long it will be until i can train at full steam. At the moment it feels like the baby duties are going to last forever. It might be 5 years before i get back to full time training.

I have a three year old and a four month old, I train at home, at least my wife can get hold of me straight away if there are any problems. not sure if thats a good thing or a bad thing?
I am gagging to get to a proper gym, but what I have done at home has worked, seen good improvements, although I will gain better in the gym.
So the baby intrusion doesnt last for ever, enjoy while you can, they grow up very fast.

its all a matter of priorities...the gym is one of my highest...yes i have kids and yes, they were babies once...taking a week or two break when they are born is fine, but make sure you get your dedication back to get to the gym...there has to be some time when that baby sleeps and your wife can take a nap and you can go to the gym for an hour a day or so...if you are really jammed up, its ok to work out home if you have the right stuff...but not for too long...

If your gonna do a whole body routine, do it at least 3 times a week, not twice...good luck man!

in my opinion so long as u stay consistant and actually make it to the gym and lift something u will do just fine.

No.1 importance into gaining dispite what anyone says is actually turning up to train, word being Consistency.

But as Jay said life does go on and we cant stop the world from spinning, so try and get your routine back to normal ASAP.

I used this excuse i got 2 kids 1 10 months old and another 2 years old.

All that happened is i stopped going totally :? , if u just keep going maybe you wont "gain" but instead "maintain" what you already have.
Instead of letting the weight drop off like what happened to me.

I also think it is right to priortise your training alongside family. Its not selfish, just were my case is concerned its essential to maintain not just a healthy body but a healthy mind.

To be totally honest with you i am getting a bit frustrated. Normal people dont understand but i love training and it (like most people here) is one of the bigger parts of my life.

I also like routine and to know what i am doing on what days. At the moment routine has gone totally out of the window.
