Default Arms

Hi all

I am not a bicep boy, well at 37 years old that would be difficult, but my chest and back are progressing quite well, but my arms seem to be lagging any suggestions how to bring my arms up to match the rest of me.

I am doing 5 x 5 for two exercises for biceps (barbell bicep curls & dumbell hammer curls) and triceps (close grip bench press & overhead tricep extension) with slow negatives.

Any suggestions would be welcomed.

Thanks

hello can you have access to weighted dips?

these work wonders for the triceps,, and pack on size quite quick

you said your doing 5x5 with 2 exercises for the bi's and tri's

What do you train them with mate?

Im training back & bi's and chest & tri's, i used to to 2 exercises for them after the larger muscle group and for me that led to over training

Ive now gone down to 1 exercise, skullcrushers for triceps and ez curls for biceps 4x8

im responding alot better to this mate, my arms have come on leaps and bounds

hope that makes sense

Compound exercises are always effective for gaining quality mass.

Chin-ups, although primarily for back, generate tremendous tension in the biceps. Similarly, dips would be great for triceps (as suggested). You could try doing them between two benches until you get a dip station. Do them after the close-grip benches so that your shoulders are well warm.

Good luck, GTF

I have extremely little equipment at home, no bench, 1 barbell, 2 dumbells (but not enough decent sized weights for them all)

So i do dips using the bath tub (hand on edge and legs stretched out at a 90 degree angle to the tub)
I also do dips in between 2 chairs (hands on 1 chair, feet on the other, simple!)

For a bit more Isolation on the barbell curl, pull your elbows back slightly and keep them there, you should feel it good and proper
