Default Can you do a bit of cardio whilst bulking yet still gain siz

When you are bulking up can you still do a bit of cardio say 3 times a week after weight liffting workouts?.
Obviously it will burn calories but if i eat more then enougth is it possible to still gain size along with doing a bit of fitness.I think i heard someone say if you stay below a certain heart rate you will not loose muscle but can anyone remember what that heart rate was?.
Thanks all,

As far as I know the heart rate is 120bpm for Age 20 and gradually decreases as age increases.

I tend to do 10-15 minutes of cardio after weights aswell. As long as you stay below that certain heart rate for your age you wont burn any muscle. Its a great time to do it aswell, as you will have used all of your glycogen stores training, forcing the body to turn to fat stores.

If you are worried about burning muscle you could always take whey in water before your cardio, then take your high GI carbs after you've finished.

Well done steve 2.5m is good going.Im going to be doing something similer to you steve, like i say i weight train 3 times a week and ill go for a run a couple times a week but ill do it after my weights on the tread mill.

I drink whey in water whilst training inbetween sets and after my hour session i go straight home only a 5 minute drive and my missus has cooked me 200g of brown rice and a medium sirloin steak to eat as soon as i get through the door.I do eat more then i need since ive taken to the brown rice and it seems an easy way to get some of the carbs down so i dont think 15 mins 2-3 times a week on a treadmill will hurt im going to try to keep my heart rate below 120 though and see how i get on.
cheers steve and reef
