Default 10x10 Squats

Just trained legs and F**k me that hurt!

I dropped the weight down to 100kg as i wasnt too sure how i would get on, i done what i call proper squats (ass to the grass) and im at home now struggling to move (maybe not a good idea after all!!)

Anyone tried this before?

Im just not looking forward to the next couple of days as i can imagine my legs will be a little sore!!

never done 10x10's. that sounds ****ing harsh.

Done the russian squat routine a few times tho which includes a 6x6 session with around 80% of your best squat. Really hard routine but wicked gains.

Whats your best squat? (single)

never tried one rep max mate

ive done 160kg for 8 reps

i normally do higher reps and lower weight for my legs, ie up to 14 reps per set

ive found this works better for me with my legs

Yeah I find that if you grit your teeth you can power out a couple more than you thought. I start seeing stars after that and think my head is gonna explode

For me, I found that 6-8 reps really gets my legs growing. my best so far is 450lb for 8-10 reps but just coming back up in weight after a comp so its down to around 380lb for 8-10 reps, maybe a touch less.

Try changing your foot placements too, close together hits the quads more and further apart tends to hit the glute and hams more.

J

I agree with vinger the 6x6 method is old style, it's been used by bber's for years and definatley works with a good legs routine. I've tried the 10x10 but would only use it maybe once every two months or so, both these methods work well with bench too.
