Default Knee Injury

Its a bit ironic really. I asked a question a few days back on what to do when you run out of weights on the leg press machine. I have solved my own problem cos I have buggered up my knee,

Basically last Monday, I was training legs hard. However Tue/wed I started feeling this little pain in my left knee. It has got progressively worse over the week and now it hurts when I walk. Its a sharp pain at the lumpy bit, at top of the shin below the knee cap . There is no pain when I'm sitting but when I lock my leg or put pressure on the quads(i.e. like a squat), it stings. There is no way I can train until this goes away but not sure what to do about it.

Anybody experience this?

(Actually I'm having a terrible week cos I also have got a cold and have missed 3 days training. I have only 3 weeks of my cycle left and want to take full advantage of it)

Thanks in Advance

John

going 2 the docs really depends on how bad it is, only u know that.

You tell your doctor it hurts wen u squat hes pretty much gonna say dont squat.

personnly id take an anti inflamatory and ice it several times a day for a few days and see how it goes.

If its not eased off then get it seen to. I suffer from tendinitus of the knee so mine are always sore, sumat u eventually get used to

cheers vinger, I just went to the doctor today and guess what he said "don't do weights on the legs," Yup, I have strained a tendon alright. He did some acupuncture but it did bugger all. I have been pushing legs hard in the last 2 months and I guess it just caught up with me. Its screwed up my leg routine

Vinger, do those knee braces do any good?

sorry bout your knee bud. If uve strained a tendon then u gotta give it a rest mate as u know.

As far as knee wraps go there great if used correctly. Only use them once the bar is getting heavy on squats, leg press things like that. Dont wear them all the time. Sum ppl like them too much n never take em off, ultimatly this will weaken your knee. I use the pull up type (rehband). Never tried the wrap around stuff.

the wrap around ones do work good,i use them .

i find they increase the amount you can lift if you do them up tightly,.
