| Making Progress | Howdy pie muncher, are you warming up properly (with weights and stretching) before you weight train. That might be the cause of the aches. I'm assuming that the aches are muscles and not joints. I always train to failure on all sets and don't ache that much any more, except under a stretch. You body gets used to the intensity after a while I reckon, As for supplements, I have have tried loads in the past but found most unnecessary. The supplements, I and a lot of people take are Creatine, vit+minerals tabs, Whey protein and maybe weight gainers (I don't use this - too expensive) I think everybody takes all sorts of supplements at the start and gets fed up with them as the cost soon builds up. I believe that creatine and whey are a must if you wanna get the adequate amounts of protein in your diet. For example, look at the proteins bars. They are about 3 in Holland and barrett and there is a little more than the same amount of protein as a can of tuna in some of them. One thing I would personnaly recommend, is taking ground up seeds. I just buy sunflower, pumpkin and flax (Linseed) and perhaps sesame seeds from Holland and Barrett. I just grind up a whole pile in a coffe grinder and take a take a tablespoon a day in a shake. Simple. This is recommend highly in almost all nutritional books (Optimum Nutrition bible for one). Grind up enough for a week and store it in an air tight container. Must be out of sunlight also. Having said that, remember these are just "supplements" and not "replacements" for solid food. I'm guilty of this too cheers John |

Having tried many types of weight gainers and protein powders, we have found the tabs to be most effective. Rather than always drinking shakes, i find its best just to eat proper food, like tuna and chicken breasts etc. Give the tabs a try mate. si |

Yes amino tabs are a decent supplememt but the cost to benifit ratio probably isnt worth it for the average person. | ||
