| Upright rows are a terrible exercise i don't even know why people do them, they are not a natural movement and place way to much pressure on your rotator cuffs. There so many better movements than this i don't know why people still persist with this dinosaur exercise. He need to go see a physio | |

To get around this i use dumbells for all chest exercises and just do incline press and flys etc and try not to do anything flat or with a bar yet i can do all my shoulder exercises without any problems. Rest did not work so i just found exercise's that did not affect me and stuck to them and it does almost clear up. ______________________ www.eph25plus.co.uk |

| Banned Making Progress | i gotta agree with stu on the upright rows, terrible exercise they put to much strain on the joints if you insist on doing them never use a straight bar, as i've said before shoulder presses are the way to go. i also suffer with shoulder pains when benching but shoulder exercises are no problem my pain is caused by the tendon at the top of the bicep and it would be really painfull through the night as when you sleep you dontmove so the tendon would "freeze" in position. go see your doc he gave me an injection into each shoulder it hurts mind as he has to touch the tendon with theend of the needle to know he's in the right spot (i nearly knocked the nurse out when he hit mine OOOUCH) BUT I'VE BEEN MUCH BETTER SINCE. |

| Making Progress | Gary, can you give us the link for the shoulder routine you posted before. I can't remember where it is. I must admit that I have done upright rows for years and never have a problem with them. I quite like them cos you take tris out of the equation but if they are that bad a guess a change is needed. cheers dude John |
