Default help id my injury

was db shoulder pressing yesterday and was on my 3rd set with 80lbs second rep i got a shooting pain down my upper back between my spine and shoulder blade on the left side. it felt like someone twanging and elastic band.

my whole upper back and neck stiffened, i had to book sick at work and now i have a real stiff neck and painfull back.

i am hoping its just a pull but you can never be too carefull in that region (i am thinking discs slipping etc etc)

any help greatly appreciated guys

 OUCH I've done this before! Does the pain feel like it is to the side of your spine on your neck? I had this during DB shoulder pressing in January. Couldn't move my head properly for days. Take some pain killers and take the week off the gym. It will be a while before you're right again so cut out the presses for 2 / 3 weeks. Did you get a loud "snap" sound when you did it?

I have this problem now and then , but mainly when I am pressing behind the neck. Tend to go to chiropractor on a regular basis now and she cracks me into position and I don't tend to get the problem so much.

I recommend anyone who trains to a chiropractor, they are feking amazing!

yeah stumpy you got it i reckon was half way up the movement and it felt like someone twanged a rubber band on the left side of my spine. now i have a real dull aches just kinda in my trap by my neck if i try and touch my ear to my trap it hurts and if i twist my neck to the right it hurts.

Its a bit unnerving at first when they crack your back and neck and it sounds real nasty, but when you train afterwards, the range of movement is so much better, almost like being 18 again, ha!

i spoke to him and he said that it sounds muscular (twang) may be a strain but with out having a proper look he wouldnt wanna say for sure. he did say to get it looked at by a pro as these things tend no to go away easly by themselves
