Gemma

If you have time you should try adding a gentle jog into your day (usually best 1st thing before you have any breakfast). Just jog at a slow pace - start for 10 minutes and try to increase it every day.

Diet will be the main thing though. Try swappin white rice for brown and try not to have too many carbs with you evening meal as you body does not have time to use these and often just get stored as fat.

I will take a lot of hard work but it will be worh it overall.

Once your diet is in place you will start losing weight and that will motivate you towards doing more and more exercise.

Hope these pointer help

I am by no means an expert on losing weight, but I do know that eating small amount often helps increase your metabolic rate so you burn more calories a day even when just sitting down. You should eat every 2 hours from wakeing up to going to bed only small amount though maybe a piece of fruit. and never ever miss breakfast your metabolism doesn't kick off until the first time you eat.

reduce the fats to a minimum reduce carbs as well and never shop on an empty stomache as this will make you buy more treats, dont buy anything fattening when shopping if its not in the cupboard at home you cant eat it and give any money you save to Kev he's gonna need it for his protein!!

Running may not be comfortable but i bet its very entertaining..... from a spectatrors point of view.

Now what was the question...........sorry got a little distracted.

Eating anything every 2 hours will speed up your metabolism fruit is good because it contains few calories drinking half a pint of skimmed milk would probably work just as well but not these health snack bars they have way too much sugar in them. So try and have 3 meals a day low fat and eat fruit every 2 hours in between. But to be honest i've never dieted to loose fat in my life, i'm not into the ripped abbs thing I just want to be as big as possible though i don't let my fat level get too high. Jason knows more about this than me i'll pm him and get him to take a look.

As for exercise swimming is excellent go with kev it may help his elbow probs, brisk walking is good too or cycling.

Sorry cant be of more help

Hello there

For women it has shown that long duration exercise at a lower heart rate is better for women in losing fat, unlike men where high intensity is more effective.

So as garry said swimming for an hour or brisk walking will certainly be a great start.

With regards to diet, fruit is o.k. but dont eat too much as they have fruit sugar in them (fructose) which is not the best form of carbohydraets. Unfortunately veg are the better (a bit boring though).

Dont forget to get your lean meats in every meal, a higher protein diet burns more calories than any other.
If you want to snack, choose rice cakes as they taste good but are low in calories (just dont eat the lot)

There is no need to go too mad as losing weight slower will help the weight stay off.

Have a look on this website to calculate your calories used in a day. It states reducing the calories by 500 to lose weight which is correct, but it states do not go below 1200. Do not go lower than 700 a day as you will be losing muscle and therefore your ability to burn fat.
I would suggest writing out what you consume in an average day(be honest with yourself) and then compare it to the calculator, reduce your normal cals by 500 and do nice gentle exercise ( especially with double f's as you could cause an injury to yourself or anyone around you )

See how that goes for a few weeks to start with.

J
