Default Training Abs with Weights

I have always just done the usual crunches when i train my abs but ive started training them with using weights.

Only been training with weights for a week but i can see a difference in my abs. I read somewhere that you should use weights to train your abs as you would use weights to press, curl, lift, raise etc when you train other bodyparts.

The only place i can really improve on in terms of hardness is my abs and love handles as i have virtually no fat elsewhere

Anyone else train their abs with weights??

only ever train them with weights bcoz ure trying to build a muscle just like any other.
U wouldnt do 50 curls with 5kg or watever to build ure bis and u cant spot reduce fat so crunches i think are a waste of time. This is just my opinion thou in cutting phases i have amazing abs just genetics i guess coz my arse is huge(its noy but u know wat i mean its not perfect which i think we all constantly aim 4)

I believe my Abs have a more chisled defined look since training with weights. Im hardly eating enough Protein in my diet (approx 120g for 175lbs) to build enough muscle in my abs to have the abs protruding out like a pro-Olympian

but there is one are that ive never really trained with weights and thats my abs and my abs are one of two areas that have a littel bit more fat than say my chest, which is solid (I get a 3mm caliper reading on chest/legs/arms and 8-10mm caliper reading on abs.

Normally i do weighted sit ups, weighted knee to chests and seated crucnches on the machine @ 4 x 10-15 reps

Can some one give me an example of your ab workout? I find it hard to do enough exercise with weights on my abs!
