What you would ideally like to do is increase the weight you are using each week while lowering the total volume of work being done. Ex: Let's say you are doing squats. 5 x 5 with 200kg. Your total workout volume for squats is 5,000kg. One way you could do this is drop a rep off of a set each week so the 2nd week would be: Set 1: 5 reps 207.5kg Set 2: 5 reps 207.5kg Set 3: 5 reps 207.5kg Set 4: 5 reps 207.5kg Set 5: 4 reps 207.5kg Total volume for this squat workout is 4,980. The 3rd week would have a total of 23reps of squats with 215kg.(5,5,5,4,4) Total volume 4,945kg. And so on.......... ______________________ www.wannabestrong.com |
