id say so training bodyparts twice a week and only 1 day rest.

Its this ONE day rest that your going to grow.

Thats assuming you want to grow :?

What are your goals?

You can't tell if your over training from that info. I need to know what your routines consist of how many exercises sets and reps, also there are a number of other factors as well such as do you have a hard manual job do you use steroids and your diet. Are you making progress (how much weight have you added to your bench in the last six months or how many reps have you incresed it by). But at a guess from what info you've given I'd say yes.

You should also change your shoulder workout to the same day as your chest and triceps.

I'd say yes! for the reason you train bodyparts twice a week and so that long!

No leg training?

Also I moved this post to the traning forum, you might get some more replys there

Yes I am going for growth and I will be starting my first cycle of roids in next couple weeks. I don't weight train legs other than running because I'm only interested in upper body growth. Yes there is only one day rest but wed. and sat. I don't do any weights (kind of a day off). I usually do three types of exercises per muscle group at 3-4 sets (10-12 reps). And my flat bench max has increased about 25 lbs in last six months. I think you might be right about moving shoulders to pec/tri day, was thinking about doing that but to me it seems that deltoids could just as easily be a "pull" muscle as a "push".

If your going for growth, I'd say cut out the running, its not going to help you!

Its really up to you if you want to train your legs or not, but i'd really advise you to do so, even if you just do some squats it'll stop you looking way out of proportion and also traning legs make your body produce more test then any other exercise!

How long have you been training for?

been training off and on for about five years now. i was aware of the fact that working legs produces the most test but i just can't bring myself to do squats and stuff.......i hate em. and i don't have a proportion problem yet really......i played soccer most of my life so my quads and calves are fine.

oh and about running.....do you guys really think i should cut it out of my routine? i mean, i want to grow in the upper body but i do have a little bit of fat around the midsection - that's why i run and do ab workouts. is it realistic to want to bulk up in the upper while getting slimmer round the midsection by running or will it impede my weight gain? i was originally planning on bulking up in excess passed my target weight and then starting with running to lean up. but i'm afraid that doing that i might lose all my gain so i've started running now in hopes that my gain will be lean muscle mass that will stay. you know?

it's a loaded question but what are you guys' thoughts?

You need to train shoulders with triceps and chest. When you shoulder press you hit the triceps quite hard as well the same with the shoulders when you train chest so if you train each body part twice a week and train triceps/chest one day and shoulders another then they are all being train 4 days a week. Shoulder don't pull they PUSH.

And for the last time IF YOU WANT TO GAIN WEIGHT STOP WORRYING ABOUT BODYFAT thats why its called bulking up. I'm gonna have to put this in an announcement cause I type the same thing everyday and its driving me MAD. :x
