Default pain relief

Wots everyones method for pain relief?

I often sat infront of the idiot box with an ice pack on. Is it just me or does everyone else go thru this?

Ive used nurofen for long periods of time before training but i dont think its good in the long run to be constantly masking pain.

Just wondering if anyone had any tips for post training pain relief.

Hello Vinger,

If the pain is not caused by an injury then traditionally Weight lifters/body builders used Deep Heat spray or cream, sometimes something that was called White Horse Linament was also used in the gym I went to years ago, the place stunk of that and sweat.

However it could be that you are deficient in a a couple of Vitamins, Minerals or Amino Acids though. Maybe not obvious, but another cause could be simply overtraining, too long sessions, too many sets, too many days a week and your body isn't recovering from each workout before it's hit by another. Could be... or it maybe a combination of all the above

Hope that is of some help.

Barry

Cheers barry,

Its not an injury, im just finding theres allways something bloody sore. Elbows, shoulders n back mainly. Ive got some dog oil that the missus kindly massages in but the effects dont last too long. Interesting point on the vitamins n minerals tho, never thought of that really.

Over training could be a cause. Currently training 6 days aweek, 3 bodybuilding and 3 olympic weightlifting. Prob too much.

Oh well, ill soldier on. Nurofen here i come.

You're welcome mate. Nurofen isn't the answer really though. It does sound very much like you are over training as do most people, including myself in the past

How comes you are doing two different Iron sports?

All the best,

Barry

P.S. Try a ralgex bath also.

Ill try the ralgex stuff, ive been having ice baths recently. They really help.

As for the two iron sports. Im from a weightlifting background, 10 years infact. Tore my quad n it just wont heal. If i train like mad, as you have to to compete at international level the injury just flares up. So i sort of retired from weightlifting but couldnt stay out of the gym so started bb. Bb is now my main focus but i love snatching and clean + jerking. Ive just accepted the fact that i wont lift in major comps anymore.

I might lay off the olympics for a while again, see if that helps.

too late guys, nature took its cause.

I sprained my wrist in the gym friday night.

My wrist looks like my waist n my forarm like my quad.

Thats me out 4 a while. Gutted.

Still can hardly move my fingers n my whole forarm has turned purple.

Looks really nasty.
