I have bulked up from 10.5 stone to 12 stone (without doing much ab work) and my stomach is still quite flat, although it has kindof of filled out, which is what i wanted. I don't like to do much ab work as it puts too much pressure on my lower back, which is very weak. I'm hoping my stomach will stay flat and muscle will be built elsewhere, on the high calorie/protein diet I am on. Will this be the case? Matt |

| Under Construction | Regarding the weak back- be proactive, ie do something about it. I had a weak lower back(from an injury), and have had it treated by a Chiropractor and have since speeded the recovery with certain exercises and stretches. DO NOT work the abs and neglect the lower back. this is a classic mistake and WILL lead to a muscular imbalance. keep the work even. Also, when doing ab work- keep the knees bent in the crunch position, this should help take some strain off the lower back, can also use a mat or a Swiss ball for more comfort. As regards you main question- where you deposit fat and how much is going to depend on a number of things including, caloric intake/expenditure, genetic predisposition, fat cell enzyme activity, etc. stick with the what you are doing and adjust cals/exercise accordingly depending on what you see. ....and don't ever rely on 'hoping' ![]() ______________________ "You're hit man, you're bleedin"-"Ain't got time to bleed" |
