Hi Woodie,

It's Biceps mate not Bicetps or whatever you said.

What exercises do you plan to do for your muscles? Your plan seems fine, but are you hoping to compound movements? They are alot better for building muscle faster than isolated movements.

I would'nt work your arms twice a week and your chest and back only once, i think chest and back are as if not more important than your arms, there bigger muscle groups for a start. I would either work them all twice or just once a week, otherwise you risk unbalanced size and strength

I agree with Ian, I wouldn't train arms that often, actually I wouldn't train anything that often! If your wanting to go to the gym 5 times a week I'd try this

Monday - Chest
Tuesday - Back
Wednesday - Quads, Hamstrings & Glutes
Thursday - Biceps & Triceps
Friday - Shoulders, Traps & Calves

Make sure your squatting, deadlifting & bench pressing and getting ample protein and sleep!

I am confused if you work out your chest on Mon. than why should you work out your Biceps on another day. When you are working out your chest than you are also working out your Biceps. Also is machines better to use for working out than free weights such as dumbells and bench press etc. Would working out with machines still have the same results at free weights

Well its Triceps that get worked with chest and Biceps that get worked with back, but as your not training them directly in these training sessions then training them directly would make sure they grow.

Free weights are better than machines!

The difference between freeweights and Machines are: -

Freeweights require your muscles to be used to balance the weight lifted and can correct any imbalance in your muscles and are best for building muscle and are the best for ROM (range of motion), which can be pretty much anything you wish when using them.

Machines only require you to push/pull a weight and well thats about it, alot of beginners go for this just to get used to the way you exercise then start using freeweights when they progress, you can lift more weight using machines than freeweights, but your limited on the ROM (range of motion) and if you have any muscle imbalances it wont correct them unlike freeweights.

Hope this is easy enough to understand and helps you.
