Default Opinions on Optimum nutrition’s gold standard whey protein

Several forum members have said that Optimum nutrition’s gold standard whey protein is a good supplement to take. I was just wondering how it compares to CNP Propeptide (which I love by the way) and how it stands up to taste and mixing etc.

Also am I correct in thinking that it is just whey protein and that it is lacking several of the ingredients that CNP Propeptide has?

Feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

O.N. 100% Gold standard has won supplement of the year and Protein powder of the year awards for 2005,2006 and 2007.It contain's microfiltered and Ion exchange WPI's along with WP concentrate and hydrolized whey peptides. It is a good supplement to take. It's effective at it's job, mix's easily. The only aspect of it that's drawn critisism is it's cookie's and cream flavour which has'nt suited everyone's pallet.

Compared to CNP.100% does'nt contain bifidus and acidophilus healthy bacteria, micellar casein,Peptide Bonded Glutamine's or high level's of the amino acid cystein so it all depends on the strength of your requirements.Price wise there's not alot of difference but you get more O.N. for your money.

I'm turning over a new leaf with regards to protein supplements and giving protein juices a try, something like Syntrax Nectar, just to see how thing's transpire!

Cheers for the feedback, think I will give it a go as well as CNP i.e. use 1 pre and 1 post workout or possibly mix them. There wouldn’t be any problems doing this would there?

Cheers

Got some Gold standard through ebay just to try it out. Didn’t specify what flavour so got cookies & cream flavour (oops) and not too keen on the taste, although it isn’t the worst I’ve had. Am a convert now and am going to order Gold standard chocolate 10lb. To use up the cookies & cream I’ll mix 1 scoop GS and one scoop CNP Propeptide pre-workout, any problems in doing this?
