Default where are the gains coming from?

Hey,

Been back training now for about two months, an old tub of creatine I was using started giving me the shits so I'm looking for a new supplement. I find creatine gives me alot of energy at the gym and I really notice it when I come off for a month. So in hindsight this seems to be the obvious choice, however, the size gains are pretty much unoticeable. I was wondering about one of those all inclusive supplements like NO EXPLODE, my question is, how do you know which ingredient might be benefiting you or helping you gain, creatine, protein, or nitric etc? I've experimented with alot of supplements, I once thought that I made some good size gains using ZMA, but thinking back, maybe I was just eating more at the time? Plus I recently discovered ZMA only aids sleep!? My opinion about alot of these non-anabolic supplements . . . the results are minimal thus making it hard to decifer whether your gains are coming from the supplement or slight changes you may have made to your diet or routine during the cycle (seems amusing to use the word cycle referring to protein shakes ha ha). This becoming more difficult if your stacking the supplements or using an 'all inclusive' sup.

Can anyone seriously say they have used a non-anabolic sup, and whilst maintaining the same diet/routine, have experienced good results? £ for kilo, are these supplements worth the money and effort, to be honest, I'm losing faith and considering turning to the dark side.

Food is the most anabolic supplement IMHO when combined with a good routine.

Most supps are just a placebo (again IMHO) but I do try a few from time to time.

Trib just increased my libido, Gaktec did feel as though it worked but I continued to get stronger when I stopped taking it.

Most are overpriced for what you get.

No Explode - isn't that just a pump supplement?

If you want to go to the dark side make sure you do your research.

scholar.google.com

pubmed.org

These are all you need to determine the effects of a particular supplement.

i think that feeling an effect is more important than it working..

think I'll just roll a spliff and hit the munchies then . . .

cheers for the comments guys . . . hate to be a party pooper . . . . but I'm not trying to get high here, emphasis on the word here.

Was hoping someone could suggest a non-anabolic sup? One they've experienced gains whilst maintaining the same diet/routine?

Train well, sleep well eat well to keep your body in anabolic mode and the gains will come. People keep saying this because it works. If you respond to creatine use creatine. Be patient and work hard. Most supplements arn't worth the cash in my opinion.

Thats my opinion . . . but was sort of hoping someone might change it. It is nice when you get a new sup through the post, gives you a renewed motivation I feel.

Extra nutrition . . . protein in particular, which I hope will result in muscle gains. Considering amino tabs, quick and easy?
