Default Extreme B&R Vs Cyclone

Other than the overpriced cost of Maximuscle products, what the pro's & the con's of Extreme B&R Vs Cyclone?

Thats a bit like Paris Hilton V Muhammed Ali

Paris got all the fancy packaging and marketing and looks nice but what does she actually DO? F**k all.

Stick with the wee black fella - gets the job done no messing about haha!

Other than rascist connotations I like the comparison Zara, I'll try to remember this one when I'm at shows, see guys she's not all smouldering pout and gloss lippy!

Rocks, I've copied the nutritional info from their website, they don't tell you things per 100g (which I think should be law) so direct comparisons arent easy. They don't tell the amino acid profile, sodium or lactose content either.

CYCLONE 1.2kg RRP £39.95 (20 servings @ £2 each)
Typical serving per 1 scoop (60g) Energy230.4kcal/962.4kJ
Protein30g
Carbohydrate21g
Total Fats (includes MCTs & EFAs) 4.68g

Performance ingredients: 2 servings (120g Cyclone)

BIOMAX™ whey protein60g

Creatine Monohydrate10g
Glutamine10g
HMB™ (Enzymatic Metabolite of Leucine) 3000mg
Potassium Bicarbonate1000mg
Sodium Bicarbonate1000mg
Beta-Ecdysterone (97%) 80mg
Bioperine10mg
Chromium Polynicotinate 400mcg

BUILD & RECOVER 2.52kg RRP £34.95 (35 servings @ £1 each)
Available in Strawberry, Chocolate and Banana, 35 x 72g servings per tub.
The statistics are per 100gr;
Kcals 362,
Protein 25.2,
Carbs 62.6,
Fat 1.2,
Cholestoral Trace,
Fibre 0.1
Sodium 0.1

Vitamin D 3.3mg (66% RDA)
Vitamin E 6.6mg (66% RDA)
Vitamin C 40mg (67% RDA)
Thiamin 0.9mg (67% RDA)
Riboflavin 1.1mg (67% RDA)
Niacin 12mg (67% RDA)
Vitamin B6 1.3mg (67% RDA)

Pantothenic Acid 4mg (67% RDA)
Calcium 113mg (14% RDA)
Phosphorus 97mg (12% RDA)
Iron 9.2mg (66% RDA)
Magnesium 124mg (41% RDA)
Zinc 10mg (67% RDA)
Iodine 100mg (67% RDA)
Potassium 300mg
Copper 2.0mg
Manganese 2.6mg
Selenium 80mg
Molybdenum 160mg
Chromium 80mg
Ingredients; Maltodextrin, Whey Concentrate, Dextrose, Fructose, Wheat Protein Concentrate, Soya Protein Isolate, Creatine Monohydrate, Casein, Strawberry Flavouring, Beetroot Powder, vitamin and mineral compound mixture, Potassium Chloride, Xantham gum, magnesium oxide.

B & R is designed for after training to create an insulin spike and then sustain it rather than letting blood sugars crash again through the maltodextrins and proteins sustaining the nutrient absorption for a longer period than glucose/dextrose alone.

The 4 protein blend gives you 22 aminos against either 16 or 18 in their whey, they don't tell you this which in my opinion is very important.

You could eat 100g in protein content from tuna only to find out you are actually only getting around half of that in a biologically available form by the time your body chops up the protein to manufacture the missing amino acids. The same thing happens when you use a protein which is missing some of the 22 aminos your body needs to build muscle tissue.

I hope this helps.

Thanks for the replys.
It's a good post to show people who have been pulled in by "maximuscle's" advertising, when they could buy a superior product at nearly half the cost.

Hi folks

cyclone is over marketed, over priced and poor in nutritional performance IMO its gotta be Build and recover every time. I used it precomp and was very impressed with its nutritional profile.

Cool Re: Extreme B&R Vs Cyclone

Rocks 703 has been kind enough to give me a few scoops of B&R after we train and I think it's great stuff. I'm on extreme protein at the moment and can't fault it. I've been on cyclone for a while before and found all it done was give me a bloated feeling. Long Live Extreme Nutrition !!
