Performance M.R.(30 servings)

Performance Meal Replacements is one of our second generation formulas, enhanced using new technology and knowledge.

We have altered the carbohydrate ingredients so the overall product is absorbed even more like solid food, over a longer time with gradual digestion, keeping it lower down the Glycemic Index. This means it is less likely to lead to any fat storage without detracting from its muscle building and recuperation enhancing properties.

The carbohydrates are now germinated/pre sprouted barley and maltodextrin. The barley has an incredible amino acid profile, the 8 essential aminos within it virtually mirror that of the human body, these are same aminos the human body cannot manufacture itself. The second big plus for Pre-Sprouted Barley is its soluable fibre content which becomes gelatinous in the intestinal tract. This means during digestion its protected from unwanted reactions and provides a sustained energy and nutrient supply via its staggered release into the bloodstream.

Flug I'll answer this tonight when I get in, I've had to work all weekend with the arrival of the 2006 Powerhouse and Gasp clothes and not had lots of time to be on the forum. Thanks

Aspartame is an artificial sweetener produced by binding Aspartic Acid and Phenylalanine - there have been concerns over it's toxicity in recent times. Consequently many people are now moving away from it and advertising their products as Aspartame free.

A small proportion of people cannot process Phenylalanine as well, that is why it's mentioned - it can be dangerous for a small proportion of the population.

Flug, I've been looking into this quite a lot to see why the info is not complete on this products label. As I've looked through everything I have discovered when we last ordered labels the printer has printed the label for the pre updated MR's spec, hence no mention of the barley.

I will be contacting our printer tomorrow regarding this as it is a major screw up on their part but equally so because they labels were cleared for print by someone at our end (me or 1 other only ever do this job). The correct labels have been printed and used previously but it seems this current batch are wrong.

Razg, aspartame was pushed thru congress by **** Cheney even though long term studies were not conclusive on its safety, now it appears he is trying to back track and is trying to get in banned as longer term studies are showing it causes perforations in the brain tissue of lab rats and has been linked to several types of cancer.

Personally I want to remove it fully from our products evemtually for better all round digestion and general health.

I am aware of this, and am not criticizing your decision to stop using it. One thing of note is that these sort of tests are not conclusive in animal studies. It's possible to kill small animals with fairly low quantities of chocolate, however humans are far too large to be affected. Similiarly even water itsself is toxic at too high levels.

While Sucralose is the current fashionable sweetener, animal testing has again shown possible issues, and it may be some time until there is conclusive evidence from any perspective.
