Also which is the best creatine shake with the same questions? Anybody got there own recipes that they add to the shakes to get any more protein etc in there? And how much of each (protein, creatine) do you take a day? 8) |

(to boost it add a banana too) ---- As for 'best' protein shake its impossible to say because each shake has a different aim. However if you are asking which whey protein to buy then i'd check out what Extreme have to offer, or ON's gold standard whey from www.cheapuksupplements.co.uk. In terms of creatine, i would just dump a heaped teaspoon in to 2 shakes each day, roughly translating to 10 grams total per day. good luck, i'm impressed with your questions so far, these are the sort of threads which develop good content and hopefully good answers !! ______________________ - Obsession is what lazy people call dedication - |

Check the amino acid content of your shake! If you have a whey with 16 aminos and no carbs or fat it could be claiming to be 99% protein and this may sound great but in reality from a 100gr serving you may only end up with 60g by the time the body had chopped up the available aminos in its attempt to manufacture the missing ones. 2. Check the protein sources. Whey powder, hydrolysed whey, milk protein isolate in my opinion aren't good. 3. If price is your greatest motivating factor then don't bother asking which is best because you won't want to pay for it. Some people are happy buying the cheapest form of unflavoured whey they can bcos in their mind "whey is whey". Not the case, there are different processing methods and different suppliers who supply varying qualities of whey, as you can imagine the cheap ones aren't as highly processed and are less bio available to your body. Obviously I'm biased in favour of Extreme Protein with 22 aminos, ultra low sodium and lactose, under 5% carbs and fats and 77% protein. 4 different protein sources giving you a time release effect which increases digestion opportunity, CNP Pro Pep is a good product, Inner Armour TriPro Whey too in my opinion is a good one also. With creatine I'd advise you to get a good creatine (ours is HPLC tested at 99.8% pure) and have a level teaspoonfull at breakfast and after training, that will give you about 6 grams daily which is plenty. Save your money on buying Cell-Tech type formulas, they are gimmicks, they work but so does grape juice with creatine! Nick is right in his timings but the doses are too high, the body can only hold 5-6g of creatine and has 2-3g naturally occurring from food so 2 x3g servs daily will be enough. www.extremenutrition.co.uk ______________________ www.extremenutrition.co.uk - 25% OFF FOR ALL MC MEMBERS, discount code MCD25. www.betterbodies.uk.com Seriously cheap sports nutrition! People hear of whey and think Iso or concentrate but there are loads of other kinds too of varying quality. ______________________ www.extremenutrition.co.uk - 25% OFF FOR ALL MC MEMBERS, discount code MCD25. www.betterbodies.uk.com Seriously cheap sports nutrition! The BEST protein shake is grabbing a hand full of chicken and steak and shaking it in the air. The ammount of protein in that shake would depend on how much is in your hand. The price, depends on where you buy your meat from. The BEST creatine would be creapure as its dirt cheap and pure. The ammount of protein you take from "shakes" depends on your diet, work it out. 1g protein per lb of bodyweight is the general rule, depends. I dislike BEST questions

Some would be nice enough enough to put Whey Concentrate, but what gradient? I've seen suppliers selling 35% protein concentrates.

hes right though! 'best' questions are kinda silly because its totally down to opinion and goal (lol... see the other thread about mass gainer shakes !!) ______________________ - Obsession is what lazy people call dedication -
