Can anyone take a look on how i customised my shake and advise if it would be ok to take as a meal replacement on waking, PWO and before bed? the later in milk. I wanted to keep it simple and avoid having little bits of everything so i avoided adding creatine, glutamine and stuff as the customiser works in percentages ie if you start adding 5% creatine and 5% glutamine before you know it your only have 10% carbs and 10%% whey protein. The shake consists of :- 25% whey protien concentrate 80(nz) 50% maltodextrin 15% milk protein concentrate 10% activated barley with no flavouring nor sweetner as you got to pay extra for that. cheers |

Dextrose is the better 1 of the two anyway. Also the ratio of protein should always be similar to or higher than the simple sugars for most people unless this doesnt add excess bodyfat or your really going for bulk. As a summary upon waking probably not. Simple sugars not a good idea these are only used when glycogen levels are depleted. Before bed 100% no no, no sugar b4 bed PWO use dextrose and whey keep it simple. Fast absorbing whey and dextrose |

MRP: you want something slow digesting and low GI - ie milk/egg/casein protein + oats and some good fats (nick's shake works well). PWO: you want maximum absorbtion rate, ie whey protein isolate + dextrose. Before bed: you want something like casein+whey, I believe redspy made a post which detailed exactly what you need. No offense, but an all purpose shake is pretty optimistic. Keep note for next time. |

Have you got this mix yet? If not you might be able to cancel and rethink it. Id reconmend a mix of Whey, Milk, Egg and Oats(50%). Any reason you chose activated barley? It quite epensive. | |
