Default amino acids vs protein shakes

I recently undertook some research on amino acids and found out some interesting scientific facts.

Check out the link below;

http://www.getbig.com/articles/protein.htm

Basically, it is saying that amino acids are more effective then protein shakes because they are pre-digested and absorb quicker into the blood. My understanding is that protein from food or shakes is broken down in the body to various amino acids for muscle growth and tissue repair. Therefore taking free-form amino acids are a direct source of muscle mass.
