Default Re: Recommendation on Protein and Regime !

Hey!

I am new to this forum so 'Hello' !!

I have just recently joined the gym and serious about it already as I have the bug for working out now.

I would like to know which protein I should take ? is the stuff in H&B good stuff ?

I am also considering getting 'Steriods' from number one......has anyone tried them at all and therfore recommend them or something similar ?

Last question now honest.....I would like a exercise programme to follow so that I know I am doing the right workout.....can anyone suggest a workout or know where I can find out more ?

That's all......

I would be greatful for all responses.....

Thanks

1st off forget the steroids mate. Your not ready for that.

There are plenty of supplements to get thru before you need to be even thinking about roids.

Protein powder is much of a muchness imo, although there are loads of posts on which is cheapest/best etc. Have a read thru em.

As regards to your workout, u need to tell us what your aims are really.
U going for size or fitness mate? or both i suppose?

Good look neway.

Hello Bigga,
If you're new to training chances are you're going to see some results no matter what you do, but you may as well get it spot on from the start, I wish I had all those years ago! :?
I'll keep it simple, but reading other posts will help further.
Train each bodypart once a week, mainly basic movements.(squats, presses, deadlifts)
Eat lots of protein, and complex carbs and veg etc
Supplement with a protein powder such as Extreme Whey or Extreme Protein, or even one of the cheaper ones you can find if you look about.
That's it! Don't bother with any other supplements for a while, just get the calories and Protein in,(1g protein per pound bodyweight)

BUMP for Vinger.

Roids are not the way to go untill you have been training for at the very LEAST 3-4 years.

Let us know your goals & stats and we can give you a good structured training programme that will get you to your goals.

Pete was also right in that as you are a newbie you will get good results for the first 3-6 months by just going to the gym and working out some.

PS Forget Holland & Barratt, they sell complete crap stuff to people who have not idea what to do.

Research through some of the threads on here regarding training and come back to us with any questions you have.

Keep us posted

I think Bigga meant the supplement "Steroids" by The Number One Supplement Company. But, still don't bother, you'll gain from what's been said above for years, and when the gains slow down, then maybe look at adding proven supplements. Nothing will work better than sound nutrition!

Bump On the holland and barrett stuff, filled full of crap and tastes aufull! Quite expensive to be honest aswell!

Try http://<a href="http://www.tmof.com"...w.tmof.com</a> I like there protein tastes alright and mixes well, no thickners in there either i recomend theres aswell

Don't get obsessed about taking protein shakes there not a wonder supplement, like i've seen many thinking, its just protein, some chicken turkey or steak would do just aswell, but your try eating and cooking that much a day!

Bump for Pete on Compound movements they are the way to go! No ponsy machines, learn the movements with free weights, and try and get someone to teach you good form on the exercises!

If you need more advise on a routine and exercises, like a set out routine you can follow etc, feel free to ask! Im sure we can come up with something!

BUMP for Pete & Benj regarding the compound movemnets & free weights, I only use machines to finish off a bodypart such as the crossover or pec deck for chest where i go medium heavy and pump out as many reps as possible just to make sure it is completely ****ed !!

Thanks for you feedback guys !

Steroids then is a defo NO NO so that is sorted.

As for the Protein I am not sure which one to purchase now as from whats been said the H&B stuff is no good.......what you lot use ?

What does Creatine actually do and could benefit from taking it ?

In terms of workout......I am 5ft 10 and weigh about 13.5 stone.....

I have a 35/36 waist and would like to reduce that to 33/34 !! What can I do there ?

What I want is to build my arms up forearm, bicep the whole arm as for my size my arms are quite small.....so some workout that will beef them up would be good !!

In other areas I would like some more mass......

What can you guys suggest for me in ref to all the above or is there no hope for !

Cheers

Theres ALWAYS hope mate. Dont worry bout that!!

Not sure about losing size on your waist and adding bulk elsewhere at the same time tho. Think its one or the other mate.

I probably wouldnt use creatine yet if your a newbie, give it a while, maybe when youve got your training regime and goals sorted out.

I see.... we can do something for ya!

Heres the problem.....

You said you wanted to get slimer round the waist, ok thats no problem, need to loose some fat

But you also want some muscle mass!

No I'm sure i'll get some people saying its possible to do but IMO and most peoples opinions its not possible to loose fat whilst gaining muscle, or even if it was im think it would be slow process, as loosing fat requires reduced calories, and gaining muscle requires excess calories.

So personally I'd choose to try and bulk up a little, then loose the belly later!
