I hear what you guys are saying.....one or the other for now.....

Well for the time being I would like to concentrate on building my arms as they look pathetic and not in proportion to my upper body.....I do have definition on my arms but the size is not there....HELP!!!!

........and hopefully losing the belly at a later stage......hopefully I can do so....

I bet you could get you're waist size down by training you're abs. You wouldn't be losing fat but you'd strengthen and pull in your stomach. Also if you've only just started training then all the extra energy expediture will help with the fat loss, as long as your diet is clean. I reckon that if there's a time when you can build muscle and lose fat it's when you're starting out!

Hmmmm, I agree with you benj to a point but there is a way he can do some of both. BBers do as you state as in, bulk first then strip the excess fat as we know how.

Bigga,
I think if you start by getting the diet sorted so you are getting just enough protein/ carbs & fat for your current bodyweight and keep at that rate (do not calculate in the amount of activity, just the basics). Then as you are training you will build up muscle while loosing fat as you go, not extreme amounts but if you keep it going for say 6 months you should have your waist down to the size you want.

The way to do this is to train BB for 45 mins then go and do some cardio for 15-20 4 times a week.

Then you can look at building yourself up properly by adding more protien & carbs.

PS Stay away from the fatty/ sugary food as much as possible

eh? as long as u burn more calories than u consume you will lose fat.
To burn the calories hes gotta train.

Hes going to be eating more as hes also looking to bulk up his upper body, if he does no ab work at all, then that surly will make his stomach bigger?

You can't just reduce fat on you're abs by doing crunches etc.
