Default Gym envy!

Me and my mate go to the gym and train together. Been going for over a month now trying to get our routines right. The only thing is hes making gains and it feels like i am lagging behind. We are both novices but do the same excersises. Its starting to get to me.

As Hammers said we're all different; you're job, diet, alcohol consumption, smoking, athletic back ground, body type, metabolism. amount of sleep are all factors that have a huge impact a month is nothing in this sport, for the time being learn how to perform the exercises correctly and make sure you eat enough good protien and carbs and plenty of rest - training stimulates muscle growth - but you can train as hard as you want but muscle won't grow with out good nutrition and rest.

if your not responding same as your pal - chances are your diet/rest/supplementation is not correct for your body and you need to change it!

Very very true. I was having the same problem at first until I started extreme dieting and finding the correct amounts of foods that my body needs. Food is vital!

It is also very difficult to notice changes on your own body, especially in such a short time. Do you take progress pictures? If not then make sure you do every few months and you should be pleasently shocked when comparing them.
