Rep Power: bad old man is on a distinguished road
Default Bad is back

Hi Mates,
I've been out of the gym for about six weeks due to a nasty virus. Really freaked out the doctors since antibiotics wouldn't make it go away. I'm pretty weak and lost about 12 pounds. I feel like I'm starting over. My cardio is shot from the infection so that is my first order of business.

My plan is to start cardio 30 mins a day mon, wed, fri. Light weight training with higher reps tues, thurs, and sat. for about 6 weeks to try and get my strength back.

Any comments or sugestions are welcome

i`d make cardio very low impact-
like walking so you dont burn off any more muscle-
swimming might be another good option.

You'll be surprised how quickly your cardiovascular fitness will recover, it happens way quicker than adding size back on. You're doing it the right way bcos your recovery times willbe better when your fit so you can train harder when you hit the weights again and stick any size you've lost back on quickly.

Thanks Gents
I've put on a bit of a gut too. Cardio is 40mins a day fast walk with an incline. I like to run but, I've never seen a distance runner with big legs.
Weight training is light weight but high reps. 20-30 reps depending on what I'm working. I guess I'm trying to create a cardio affect from my weight training also to burn this gut off. Diet is clean, I know what to eat and what not to.
Current size is 6'2" 244 pounds Bicep measurment flexed is down to 17 inches Body fat is around 18%
