Bio-oil like someone said is the best bet. Keep using the regularly (daily) and over a week or so u will see a difference. Help sort my sis out with her massive scar. Got ours from Superdrug.

Stretch marks are caused by damage to Elastin which is part of the connect tissue matrix. Once damaged they will turn red and overtime will turn silvery and thin out. I have heard actually retinol can have a protective and preventive effect but only if caught earlier. Retinol increases cellular respiration rate (divide rate) and also increases the elasticity of collagen. The dosage for therepeutic effect are 0.25 or 0.5 which in Canada you need to get from the doctor. Effect will be in a few weeks. Any cream that you put on your skin will only have an effective if it is A Able to pass through the skin barrier (needs to be fat soluble or have someting which pushes it through) and in sufficient concentrations. Vitamin E has been avocated which is used by the cell membranes to protect though but be careful..a lot of people get atopic dermatitis from Vit E which iwll make things worse and the new evidence says not to put Vit E for scar as it does not seem to help. I work in the health field and have used retinol though for other reasons. Hope this helps

Also

Laser has proven to be v. effective for these and I have gotten really good results with laser for dermal healing. Micoderabrasion seems to work too which you can buy in a pharmacy.

For good info.....look on pubmed.com search your topics. You will get scientific articles which is what I do. Some can be hard to read but atlesat you get better information. INternet is riddled with bad info.
