Default some advice please

hey

currently im doing

monday - swimming
tuesday - gym
wednesday - climbing
thursday - gym
friday - mountain biking

i would like advice on how to change what i do to be able to build some more muscle, if it means combining gym and cardio on the same day it is fine, though i cant go to the gym on the same day as mountain biking.

my aim really, is that i would like to reduce my fat some more, which is probably at the moment just to stop eating rubbish and build some muscle though i dont want to be huge.

thanks in advance, chris.

going to the gym isn't enough chris. it kinda depends what you do while you're there.

wow chris, you sound like a very active guy!!

do you have a diet you follow? im willing to bet with that lot you'll struggle to have enough excess calories to build much muscle..

yer you see i started swimming well over 10 years ago, climbing about 5 years back and mountain biking ive done for about 4 now.

if i could go to the gym more (up to 4 times a week) and follow some sort of plan for building muscle while there would that be any use?

also as for my diet well not really a diet just what i eat anyways..

i have 2-3 weetabix for breakfast

a sandwich at break (im in college)

a school dinner (healhty option)

then my tea later on at night after ive been sporting except when its mountain biking as it can take up to 2 hours to get there depending on the traffic, so when i do that ill usually have something packed =]

to be fair, id say training (if done properly) 3 times a week would be sufficient...

but first you would need to take a look at your diet... with all that going on you will be burning off much more than you are putting in so you've no chance of really building any muscle..

i hate this phrase lol but go have a look at the stickys in the nutrition section - they will give you some idea of how you need to be eating.

It would be hard with all the high intensity cardio...I used to train heavily whilst doing alot of cycling, you can make some progress...but its hard.

Chris - I think if you are wanting to put on some muscle you will have to stop most, if not all, of your cardio and as has been said already, start eating. You will be pleased to hear that you won't get huge (though if you do please share your secret).

Good luck
