Default Body Fat

Hi Guys I got my Body Fat tested Saturday and i've got 8%. I'm 5ft 8ins and 12stone 6lbs. I was just wondering how much bodyfat i should have? Is 8% too low or too high?

Your comments would be very grateful!

Cheers

8% is good mate... low... how did you get it tested?

some readings can be way off as people hold different amounts of fat in different places of their bodys!

I was told to have my body fat tested by ultrasonic waves. Is this a good reading?

Yeah, when i started my body fat was 17.8%, I've stayed the same size but turned the fat to muscle so i seem to fairly ripped. Just think i need to lose more fat off my legs (i think i need to do more cardio)

8% is truly low, it should mean you have no visible fat (from a normal person's perspective) and ripped abs.

Well done on your progress.

PS, you can't turn fat to muscle... its chemically impossible..

david... it is possible.. however its a very very fine line... which is why most people prefer to bulk up and cut down... its an easier long term approach.

with regard bodyfat, i never have mine tested.. i know my body well and use the mirror and certain areas of my body where i know i hold fat as indicators as to what level im at. i.e. fat git or not so fat git!
