Default 6ft, 10stone5pounds + belly?!

hi all. as the title suggests, i need some advice about training my particular body shape. basically i have been trying to bulk up and get a lean look.

I have been training and eating quite hardcore, and put on some muscle mass. I am an ectomorph, so its always been hard to do this.

However, when i upped my calorie intake and stopped cardio, i noticed fat being deposited on my stomach. Now... no more 6pack... but a belly. Its only hit me because quite a few people see it stickin out of my shirts!

here are some pics to show my body shape as it is now.

i'm quite happy with my back so far, i find it quite easy to build. Latimus dorsi and anterior deltoid are alright... the inner back... hmmm still needs toning! but can u see the folds and love handles at the bottom!

this is just to show the front of my body. still needs a lot of work... chest... arms... shoulders... any advice would be appreciated.. as u can see the 6pack is barely visible anymore!

and finally, the belly. this is me relaxed... see how it sticks out! even when i tense it in, under the belly button still sticks out. As i dont have a big chest, it sticks out!

So any advice would be much appreciated to get my 6pack back, while retaining muscle mass!

Just don't worry about it. It takes a lot of perserverence until you will strike proportion. Keep eating lots and training hard, in 2 years time you will be in great proportion and excellently filled out, then cut and show it all off.

Well, i'd suggest that if you have been training for a long time (i may be confused, but didn't you claim you could gain something like 15lbs every 3 months? If you don't know what i'm talking about then ignore), then you need to drastically change up your training regime.

You need to force your body into growing. Are you honestly training SO INTENSELY to bring about this massive change? You should be screaming at the end of each set !

yeah nick i did put on a stone over the summer from training because i was following a hypertrophy regime. but near the end (i say end because as i am fasting in this month i cant train), i wasnt gaining. it was quite easy because i was really skinny, and now i put on a bit of muscle, mainly on my back as i said.

so can i ask nick, what sort of exercises and rep range should i be doing. someone at the gym said that i should be doing cycles of hypertrophy, strengh and strength endurance i.e medium reps, low reps, high reps respectively. also do u recommend any of the shocking techniques?

i know how to perform quite a few exercises, i'm just quite lost at how to get the most from them in terms of weight, rep range, and different techniques i.e supersets, drop sets etc

again any help would be much much appreciated

yes c8rsa i have analysed my diet after some advice on this forum, and have a high protein diet, supplemented correctly.

"i am fasting in this month i cant train"

Is this for real? Religious fasting? No way you can eat lots?

In terms of shock, i'd just suggest trying to go as nuts in the gym as possible. Shouting, grunting, getting an enthusiastic training partner, NOT giving up early on sets, etc etc

Go for a 20 rep warm up then straight in 3 solid sets of 6 rep range. Then finish off with another 20 rep set.

Nick
