Hi guys, just wondered if anyone can answer me this?

My mate who i train with always insists on going in the steam room after a work out, he says its good for your muscles but never explains why?
Can anyone help me out on this?

Does he insist that you go with him? I hear Nick tries to coax his training partners into the steam room too....beware he may fiddle with you!

On a more serious note. I'm not sure whether it will be beneficial to your muscles, but good to relax.

lol

i think the idea is just the same as a sauna, it relaxes the muscles ( similar to a hot bath?)

I think Nick may well be right, although the old hot water/cold water treatment for muscle damage has been around for ever so the heat may exhibit some effect, relieving lactic acid possibly (this is speculation so please correct me if wrong).
