My advice from what friends have told me in order to get it done in a good time of say 2 hours, is to build stamina allowing yourself to run for approx 3 hours at a good pace on normal roads. Basically it is pretty much a marathon on a shitty surface with brambles, big hills, obstacles and lots of ice cold water......... Some cross country would be great training too and i have heard hill running is a big part of it so work on high incline treadmill sessions. Even if you cant get up to a really good long term running fitness i would still do it just so you know what level you need to reach for the winter version next year. I am planning on entering this in jan/feb so maybe we could get a Muscle Chat team entered and make a social weekend of it!! ?? !! |
