Two things were said to me that have stuck with me from my early days of bodybuilding, “You don’t know what muscle you’ve got until you’re in contest shape” and “You can’t flex fat”
Now in hind site I probably wasn’t ready to compete the first time I did but it was invaluable to see what I looked liked properly lean, as weak points are much more visible when in condition.
So if you’re already lean then the first course of action may be to start building as much as possible AKA bulking, If you’re not then in my opinion
you need to get something like lean to know what you’re working with, this might not be contest shape but something reasonably close.

Thanx for that, im not a "bloater" or "fatty". Not too sure what my current bodyfat is but might see if i can get it checked at the gym some time this week. Last time i had it done was around 23%.
What would be an ideal bodyfat % be to get down to. (currently 5ft 11 weighing in at 156lbs )
