Re: Girl Kicked To Death In Park It’s a massive social problem to my mind born out of a lack of respect for anything. When I was a kid at home I knew where the line was drawn and if I overstepped it I got a good hiding. I wasn’t beaten but just subject to good old fashioned discipline, told why not to do something, the asked not to do it, reinforced with why and if I ignored it I got what was coming.
At school corporal punishment still existed as did other non pc things which taught kids about the real world. One of my colleagues has told me in his kids school red crosses are no longer used as they are a negative comment – fook me no wonder we have problems… kids also need to be taught not everything in life come without effort they need to be taught almost everything worth having takes huge effort.
Kids should be taught to channel their energies positively. boys I honestly believe need positive male role models who they can respect and desire to emulate and impress, if not they find one and for a lot that will probably be the “hardest” lad in the neighbourhood which unfortunately could well mean some tooled up little prat.
I do think though it is incumbent on people who are able to stand up to themselves to do so, Pavlov’s dog’s syndrome; back down to the fookers teaches them everyone backs down. I’ve had a few bollockings off of H for pushing my way through more than one gang of hoodies saying excuse me and getting sorry mate. Ok not everyone looks like me…and my sign off says something about my mind set
There’s bound to be a back lash of common sense at some point, sooner the better, we need to teach our youngsters to respect themselves first, give them something to aim for stop the free hand outs for the lazy (not the genuine) positively reinforce desirable behaviour and punish harshly that which is not acceptable.
I could rant about this all night!!!! ______________________
