Default Re: Squats and Deads on same day?

This is a bodybuilding site for the most part , so the likely response will be to seperate them.

However some powerlifters squat and deadlift on the same day.

I have recently been doing so also and i like it. It then gives me longer to rest my legs/lower back inbetween sessions.

One session is

Trap bar deadlifts ( these hit quads nicely)
box squats (these hit quads, but also a lot of ham and glute recruitment)

Next is.

back squats
straight leg deadlift

I also do my other pulling movements on the leg/back day.

Its basically what the westside powerlifters do.

Some might say you can not do justice to all the lifts, but i dont rush through my sets and sometimes take as long as 5 mins between my heaviest sets.

Im liking it so far, so just experiment mate. There are no hard and fast rules, find what works for you
