Default Re: Is it too late to start Karate, Judo etc?

I’m assuming you’ve been reading about Shaolin or Samuri training children from a very young age due to the potential joint flexibility and rapid adaptation to flexibility of the pre adolescent , and given that wondered if your late teens is to late to start…?

Go for it you’ll never be any younger and your late teens is very young – true you are unlikely to ever have the flexibility of the above disciplines but then I doubt you’ll ever train 8-hours a day for seven days a week... but if you do who knows...

I first trained in free style and my instructor wouldn’t entertain anyone under 18 as his view was any younger and you don’t have the mental discipline.

Go for it!
