Re: Competing questions I'd been training with weights for about 25 years - god am I really that old - but most of that time had been Powerlifting and latterly weight lifting. I changed gym because the old one I trained at closed and as soon as I did the owner said I should set a date for a show because nothing focuses the mind like competition, I couldn't really powerlift at any standard anymore due to a torn pec and to be honest weightlifting just doesn't float my boat. My first show was Oct 05 NABBA UK, I realsied I looked pants just no where near enough muscle and decided to do my best to get better, I've competed four times now, it's a brilliant buzz each time I get a little better and learn a bit more about myself. If anyone is thinking of doing a show, I would say go for it, even if you don't make it to the day you'll be in the best condition you ever have been in if you haven't competed before. |
