Technically tamoxifen isn't an anti-oestrogen. Rather its a site-specific competitive inhibitor of oestrogen. What that means is that it binds to the oestrogen receptor sites in certain tissue (like in the breast) which prevents oestorgen binding eith the receptors. As a result the affected cells will behave as if there is no oestrogen aound (and this is how Nolva stops gyno). However, Nolva does not work by redcuing the oestrogen in your body
