lee when you talk about assumptions ,i think you might have jumped to a few yourself...nowhere have i said a bodybuilder "cant" give advice about fighting or preparing for a fight...then again i never said a swimmer, rower or even a bus driver "cant" give advice....my point was,it makes most sense to me to ask advice from succesful people in your own sport...
i understand many bodybuilders have a good knowledge of nutrition in sport,BUT making weight for a fight is like nothing a bodybuilder ever has to deal with...so to ask your average bodybuilder specifically, well, you might as well ask a rower or a swimmer etc....
as for bodybuilders lasting 3 mins on the mat...well like i said im going from personal experience,i dont doubt that some would last 4 or even 5 minutes

but again, only going by what ive seen...all piss and no poke most of them.....no need to stick your chest out mate im only having a giggle

.... well mostly.
just to add...battlehawk you are right about that program...but also remember how many succesful top level yanks look to for help with their training....mark layman, who has never competed as a fighter in his life and is in general a poor physical specimen...but sure knows his shit when it comes to a fight...he brought out a video a few years back called " on the mat with mark layman " i never thought much of instructional videos but this one was tops....Evan Tanner who became middleweight world champ and was and is a great fighter, learned everything about fighting from this video, and rolling round with his mates,he is self taught!...so as much as diet and conditioning helps,we must never forget technique is everything and without we are nothing,no matter how great your diet is !
