Default Calorie intake

Could anyone give me some advice on my calorie intake.
I have started keeping a count of my daily calories and protien,
Protien wise, I have calculated that I weigh 13 stone, but probably have 3 stone of fat % so I am having 1.5g protien per pound in 10 stone. Is that right?
Calorie wise I have been eating 1500- 1700 cals a day. My husband says it should be 2000 for maintaince for an average women. :? Obviously I am bigger, 5ft 9.5 and 13 stone and train alot. Help I am really unsure, I don't want to lose too much muscle by not having enough cals!
I try to vary my cals each day to trick my metabolism a bit too!! Weekends I eat a bit extra and always feel full of energy come monday morning!!
