I think the key to maintaining/adding as much muscle as possible is being rigorous about supplementing protein prior to exercise (of all types). A whey shake 30 mins before will give you elevated blood aminos for the majority of your workout (providing it's not ridiculously long), and a carb drink will block cortisol via insulin - if you keep those things in mind, you should be ok.
With regards to your protein intake, it obviously depends on your size. |
