Default How many of you started with martial arts?

How many of you got into bodybuilding through martial arts?

I started with Ju Jitsu but couldn't always get there in time and wasn't allowed on the mat if I was a minute late so would go into the gym and use weights.

My mate was a very good kick boxer and he worked out with weights (think John Rambo physique) and I wanted to look a bit like he did and wanted to be able to scrap like him too!

I stuck with the weights, went to freestyle kick boxing and boxercise to build my fitness, because of the kick boxing and boxercise I lost a lot of fat and decided to keep dieting and have a go at competing.

I did compete but gave up the kick boxing and boxercise after show 1 so I could get more mass on. I wish I'd never stopped my martial arts and boxercise, i was fit, flexible and looked and felt great. My flexibility sucks now and i need an aqualung after sex because my fitness is so poor.

Anyone else similar?
